Title: Damaged
Author: Saraste
Pairing: MirInu
Rating: R
Warnings: excess fluff, angst
30 forbidden fruits theme #9 past
wordcount: 492
A/N: This came out a bit too poetic for me I think. Also it veers on the line between fanfic and original. Grrr. I'm exasperated with the way I write, lately. This is for Liz.

We hide in the night.
The moon covers our past sins, makes the things we've done, things we've been, disappear... away like smoke. Away with our laboured breaths, our sweaty bodies entwined, our eyes not missing a look, our hearts not a beat.
There's fire in our veins as we move, washing away things that have passed. We touch scars both inside and out, sighing and moaning, loving each other.
Inuyasha...
I've never trusted anyone like I do you...
... and I like to think the same goes for you.
I'd like to say I see past the scars, past the guards of your soul, past the look in your eyes that says you're fine. The vehement golden eyes that deny all. And that you can see past my façade. Past the mask I wear but drop whenever we're together. Together like this.
We're both damaged, but sharing this, sharing our love, we come more whole.
And for one spellbinding moment, one moment of bliss, we are not broken, we are undamaged, our past blown away and unable to touch us. Unable to hurt us. Warp us and make us bleed. Make us believe we can never feel this. Never feel content and loved. Safe and protected. Whole.
Love patches us up.
I ride you gently and you smile. We're wild. We're gentle. We scream as we come time and time again. Past flowing away and present and future taking hold of our souls, our hearts, showing that we may yet have a change. A better tomorrow ahead of us.
Cries of pleasure shift to tired murmurs, whispered endearments, giddy smiles and lazy limbs. The soft clicking of prayer beads and the shuffle of silk as we settle in each other's arms, ensconced by the liquid silver that is your hair, mingling with my raven locks.
We're content.
This is happiness for us. We help each other chase our ghosts away. Wipe our tears away. Hug away the hurt. Scream for the heavens for forgiveness. But in our hearts we are forgiven. We are forgiven.
And we are loved.
Our hands know no hurt as they touch, our lips know no harsh words, our eyes no disapproval.
We will love each other for as long as we can. As long as we can. Finding our peace, our equilibrium. Hoping that tomorrow will make the difference, taking present as it is and letting go of the past. But we are no fools, we know this might be it.
This might be the last time you say my name so lovingly, so passionately.
The last time I'll be your Miroku and you my Inuyasha.
