May. 21st, 2006 09:47 amWE WON THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST!! Watching Eurovision is not a thing people admit on doing. Yet last night I sat in the Nightclub on the ferry from Stockholm to Turku, waiting eagerly for the results, watching the contest from a big screen. And I clapped with the rest of them as Finland scored high points. And I cheered and I clapped when they announced us as winners, or actually Lordi. I kept repeating "This is so absurd!", as they announced the points.
It was the communial feeling that got to me, we were all together in this. I don't know.
Funniest part was that we ended having a filosofical converstion about religion when we returned to our cabin. I asked my sister what the difference was between 'satanismi' and 'saatananpalvonta', as there have been accusations around Lordi. Trouble is that English only has one term, 'satanism', to describe both. And then we ended up talking about the difficulties with monoteistic religions and wether it's politics or religion that have caused more wars.
But now I'm going to possibly lie down for a bit, I've slept fifteen hours during the last three nights together so I'm pretty beat. But I'm actually quite awake just now, so I might just have an early lie in.
We won! (Oh the fangirl in me...)
