And It's Fall Again...
Sep. 4th, 2006 03:26 pmNot all that bad, actually. I have a course in Japanese starting tomorrow, which I'm really exited about. My other classes aren't that interesting, though... Just grammar and translations. But I've never learned any Japanese before and I've wanted it for a while now so it's nice.
I was in Britain with my parents in July. I saw much and bought too many books, but it was really hard to find any manga or anime anywhere. Luckily I found some and visited a nice shop called Forbidden Planet in London that had it all. But at that point I had very little money and as I wanted to save some to spend it in Edinburgh I only bought Earthsong vol.1 and a neat book about fairies. London had some really nice museums but the air was too hot! My favourite was Tate Britain where they had works by the pre-rafaelite's. Millais' Ophelia was really captivating.
The highlights of my trip were visiting Tolkien's grave on the Wolvercote Cemetery in Oxford and seeing Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross in London. Okay and the Tower was nice too and Hadrian's Wall.. And if you ever go to Scotland, drink Irn Bru.
My new roommate hasn't quite settled in yet, I think. She came here, I heard her trhough the door as I was watching Naruto at YouTube. My door was closed so she didn't come in. I just noticed that I only have ten hours per week now! But I'm making many courses that you only have to read for and take a test. I'm shuddering to think how much I'll have to read for Literature, Folklore and Latin. Oh the horror!
