A/N: It's been raining for most of the day. I was inspired.
The rain came down hard upon the walls of a solitary hut up the mountainside. The water ran against the structure in torrents, in almost solid sheets of nigh destruction.
A man in red clothes stormed out of the hut. A lightning illuminated his leaving, it's roar drowning any sounds escaping past the opened door. He slammed it shut and strode intently over the muddy yard to leave.
A figure clad in dark stumbled out on the soaked yard to lay a hand on the retreating man's shoulder, to stop him, make him stay.
“Do not dare to leave like this!” the man screamed, trying to out do the wind blowing his raven hair all over the place.
The other whipped around.
“I told you what to do, houshi! I told you to rid yourself of it!” he bellowed as the rain soaked them both to the bone while the wind howled like their wounded souls.
“How could I? It is a part of you! You gave him to me!” the monk cried out, tears running down his cheeks, unbidden and relentless. Mixing with the rain and his soaked curls. Covering the forming bruise on his cheek. But not masking the hurt on his face. His eyes screaming for apology, love, acceptance...
The other smacked his cheek, the force of the blow almost making the man loose his footing on the soggy ground.
“I told you!”
He turned his back to leave as the wind buffeted his wet silvery main around him. He was unsympathetic to the other's broken pleading. It was done.
“Inuyasha, don't leave us!” Miroku pleaded, his words almost sinking into the howling of the wind. But his words were swept away, snatched by the elements raging around them. Unheard. Unheeded. It was done.
Inuyasha was gone.
