SNOW!

I'm like a kid again. There's SNOW! Part of me likes to believe that this is it, that this snow will last us all the way to Christmas but it's unlikely. Still doesn't stop me being all kiddy. I'm gonna go do a walk out in the lovely winter weather once I'm done with breakfast (=coffee).

It rained most of the night last night. I was watching some Bleach even while I was supposed to have gone to sleep and when I changed to my jammies before three and went to the kitchen I saw all this white... Had to go get my glasses on and I saw it was snowing. Part of me wanted to just throw on a cardigan and run out into the snowfall in my jammies and slippers. Didn't, of course. But I so wanted to. (And the part of me that's a pessimist fretted over whether the snow would still be there when I woke up since Finnish weather in the winter, especially on the coast? Unpredictable. Was kinda hard going to bed and falling asleep...)

And now it's so pretty ith snow on the trees and on the grond. Now I feel all festive and more wintery. I think I'm gonna start making Christmas/Yule cards soon.^^

SNOW!

(And yes, it may sound odd that we get snow so late in FINLAND. That's climate change for you. And the ocean. It's like right there. I live in Turku which is on the coast, so the sea (which is not frozen up yet) gives off dampness and warms the city... less snow and stuff.)

Yay Snow! I love that first snow of the season--so beautiful.

We might get flurries tonight, but any snow this early here usually doesn't stick. I'm keeping fingers crossed for snow around Winter Solstice.

Me too. And especially when it doesn't turn wet and sloshy by the end of the day because the temperature rises as often seems to happen here...

I'd so kill for Winter Solstice snow. There hasn't been almost any at all during the holidays for three years straight (in 2006 it snowed briefly on the 26th, though...)

I did. Took a long walk in the woods and simply let myself calm. I really like being where I live, there's forest and walking possibilities outdoors nearby and in a way which makes you feel you're not living in the city at all. The snow was so pretty and they're promising more over the weekend and frost until Monday. Going to my parents in the country over the weekend and will drag mom out for a walk to enjoy it.^^

am I the only one who dislikes snow. Usually because we can get up to two feet sometimes and people can't drive in it.

But it does look pretty. I am just hoping for no humongous storms here in NY

Yes, yes you are. You are odd dear. I think I like snow simply because here in Finland we end up having less than six hour long days (daylight time as determining the length) and if the ground is bare it gets kind of depressing.

I live so much in the South that there isn't so much snow around here anyway even on a good winter but I do enjoy good big piles of it. Especially throwing myself on it. My silly dirty secret is how I went sledding with some friends a few years back and ended up tearing my pants as I slid down so many times (and off the sled). And I was 21. XD (I have a theory about how after a certain age you tend to start ignoring how ridiculous you may seem to others and just go with the flow with everything...)

Storms aren't nice. Hope you'll be safe from those.
