Watching: The Amazing Spiderman
Mar. 14th, 2019 10:57 pm I just finished watching The Amazing Spider-Man 2, watched the first one on Tuesday, both for the first time this week.
WHY HAVEN'T I WATCHED THEM BEFORE?
Adam Garfield's Spidey is witty, wordy, angsty and human. Gwen is lovely and I want to marry her. The spidey-sequences were a very cool mix of fun and showy, this Spidey really has fun with it.
I didn't want 2 to end, because I knew the trilogy was incomplete. As much as I like Tom Holland's newest iteration of Spidey, there's a lot of something to be said for Garfield and it would have been interesting to see where that went.
I've watched the post-2000 Spideys all wrong, too, going from Tobey Maguire to Holland to Garfield, all following the animated Spidey I watched as a kid in the nineties.
I might need some angsty fic now. Or fluffy. I'm not picky.
